Lymphedema is not just an inconvenient, uncomfortable, and unsightly condition. It is a serious health issue that should be addressed properly and immediately. People who are affected by lymphedema may encounter other problems which can either be pathological and can be present in addition to the existing lymphedema and further aggravate its symptoms or secondary complications, which could develop as a result of stagnated lymphatic fluid. Secondary complications, in particular, are common to lymphedema especially if the swelling is left untreated. They also often contribute to the progression of this serious disorder.
